About us

New Beginnings is a family-run business with four individual homes in and around Gloucester.

We offer long and short-term individual care to people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, those with mental health problems as well as those with behaviours that are considered challenging to others.

Between them, our close-knit team have decades of experience within the adult care sector and we take immense pride in the difference we make to our individuals.

Our values

  • P –  Passionate

  • R – Resourceful

  • O – Outcome Focused

  • U – Unwaving on delivering person centred care

  • D – Driven to make a difference in the lives of the people we support.

Why ‘New Beginnings’?

We believe our name highlights the aspirations we have for all our individuals – we help people to make a fresh start, to be independent, make unique choices and live valued and meaningful lives.

What sort of support can a individual expect from New Beginnings?

Life in a New Beginnings home does not mean that a person has to lose skills or independence.

In fact, we actively encourage people to make independent choices, try new things, learn new skills and live fulfilling lives.

We do recognise though that some people may need some help to achieve their goals and day to day needs.

How does the referral process work?

Normally a referral is made through a social worker, brokerage team or a placing authority.

Occasionally a referral can be made through a health service, GP or even families. A referral can even come from the user themselves.

When a referral is made to New Beginnings or one of our homes, we will arrange for a member of our team to get in touch.

We will then arrange a visit so that we can tell you more about the home and understand what sort of things the person being referred likes to do and the support they would like.

We then invite them to visit the home to meet our staff and other individuals who live there, to get a feel for the place and answer any questions they may have.

If you would like to make a referral or an informal enquiry, please get in touch with us.
